3 journalists detained

İZMİR/ANKARA – Journalists Fırat Can Arslan, Delal Akyüz and Sibel Yükler were detained as a result of raids on their homes.
 
As part of an investigation launched by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the police raided the house of Mesopotamia Agency (MA) reporter Delal Akyüz in İzmir. Although it was obligatory to wear shoe covers during the house search, some police officers did not wear shoe covers. A police officer, who claimed that "it is not compulsory to wear shoe covers", objected to the objection by saying, "It is not important, do you clean it?" During search, police stormed the house without any witnesses
 
Akyüz, who detained, was taken to the İzmir Provincial Security Directorate in Çankaya.
 
There was no information about whether Akyüz will be taken to Diyarbakır.
 
JOURNALIST ARSLAN DETENTION
 
As part of the investigation launched in Amed(Diyarbakır), MA reporter Fırat Can Arslan was also detained in a raid on his house in Ankara. While the reason for his detention was not known, Arslan was taken to the Ankara Security Directorate.
 
Arslan's phone and computer were seized during the raid.
 
Journalist Sibel Yükler was also detained in a raid on her home in Ankara. It was stated that Yükler was taken to the Ankara Security Directorate.
