Two female journalists sentenced to prison in Iran

NEWS CENTER - In Iran, journalists Saeede Shafiei and Nasim Sultanbeigi were sentenced to 8 years and 6 months in prison for making "propaganda against the regime".
 
In Iran, women journalists Saeede Shafiei and Nasim Sultanbeigi, who were prosecuted for making "propaganda against the regime", were sentenced to 4 years and 3 months in prison. In the hearing held at the 26th Branch of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, two journalists were sentenced to 8 months in prison on charges of "making propaganda against the regime" and 3 years and 7 months in prison on charges of "disclosure of relations and secret agreements".
 
The court also banned journalists from joining political and social groups and going abroad for 2 years.
 
Another journalist tried in the same case, Mehrnoosh Zarei Hanzaki, was acquitted of all charges.
