AMED - Amedspor fans stated that the racist attacks were aimed at Kurdish identity and emphasized that they would protect their team.

Racist attacks against the fans of Amed Sportive Activities Club (Amed S.F.K), who compete in the Turkish Football Federation 2nd League Red league group, continue. A family who came to the stadium wearing Amedspor jerseys to watch the Sarıyer-Amedspor match in Istanbul was attacked by a group of racists. Reacting to the attacks, Amedspor fans gave a message of resistance against racist attacks.

Cihat Kocaoğlu, one of the fans who said: "No matter what, Amedspor should continue on its way. I am 44 years old, such things were happening before during the Diyarbakırspor period. No matter what we do, there will be racist attacks. Ownership of Amedspor needs to be greater."

THE ATTACKS ARE NOT THE FIRST

Reminding that there were racist attacks on the city's football teams in previous years, Ramazan Tugay said: "Especially when we went out, they were saying 'PKK out'. Now they are doing the same to Amedspor. Of course, we are always against racist statements. We are in favor of unification. I was always in the stands for 44 years. Currently, I have established the Mesopotamia Fans Association. We came together with approximately 16 teams in this region under the umbrella of the union. In the next period, we will prevail against these racists."

'BECAUSE OF OUR KURDISH IDENTITY'

Stating that they want to watch Amedspor in the first league this year and that they are hopeful about the new management, Cihan Boncuk said: “Do not leave our team unattended. We provide the necessary support to our team from here, and we would be happy if you continue to provide it from there. There are attacks from both the government and its wing. This is a situation caused by Devlet Bahçeli and Turkish nationalists who say 'There is no city or team called Amed' and they are trying to tarnish the name of Amedspor. We are not like that, we do not have any racism against Turks, no matter who you ask here, you will not see such a thing. They are uncomfortable with his name, his fans, and they attack us because of our identity."

POLISH FANS WERE ON THE FIELD

Polish Amedspor fan Wiliam Radovski said: “The purpose of coming here today is to support Amedspor because I know there are political reasons behind the attacks. I came here to support the Kurdish resistance. Long live Amedspor."

'WE WILL WIN BY RESISTING'

Stating that they will support their team by condemning the racist attacks against Amedspor fans, Mervan Karaca said: “We will win by resisting. I condemn the racist attacks against us. When they come here, we treat them well and host them, but when we go there, they call us 'terrorists', they have no right to do so. We are not 'terrorists', we are Kurds. The reason for the attacks is that we are Kurds and our team's name is Amed, there is no other reason."
