ISTANBUL - Stating that İmralı is the solution to all issues, especially the Kurdish issue, Politician Nursel Aydoğan said: "If the doors of İmralı are opened, a new era will be started."

 

While PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan has been held under severe isolation conditions in İmralı High Security Type F Prison for 25 years, there has been no news from Abdullah Öcalan for the last 31 months. While concerns about Imrali increase, actions and events continue in Turkey, Kurdistan and many parts of Europe to ensure the physical freedom of Abdullah Öcalan.

 

The lack of news from Imrali and the isolation conditions make many problems, especially the Kurdish issues, unresolvable and deepen. Politician Nursel Aydoğan evaluated the Imrali isolation and the insolubility of the Kurdish issue.

 

'THE BIGGEST ISSUE IS THE KURDISH ISSUE'

 

Stating that problems arose in the country when the "solution process", which aimed to solve the Kurdish issue, which is Turkey's biggest problem, through democratic means, was terminated by the government and returned to "war" methods, Aydoğan said: "Turkish society supports the peace process. The biggest factor in the disruption of this process was that it was not in the government's interest. There was an atmosphere of peace like never before in the history of Türkiye. The international capital groups came to the country and made investments, the country's economy increased more than ever, and that atmosphere created peace, hope and motivation with the end of war and conflict in Turkey. This atmosphere was reflected in all of Türkiye and Kurdistan. If this issue had been solved, Türkiye would be in a very different position today."

 

'İMRALI IS THE  SOLUTION OF ALL ISSUES

 

Reminding that PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan worked hard for peace, Aydoğan said: "All people, especially the people of Turkey and Kurdistan, have seen the fact that the solution will come with Öcalan. The state returned to war after the people's increasing loyalty to Abdullah Öcalan, with the influence of the developments in Rojava, and after the government thought that this process was not beneficial for itself. This process first started with the isolation imposed on İmralı. They wanted to eliminate this problem with war, the government locked the gates of İmralı. In fact, İmralı was closed with this decision. Mr. Öcalan said the following in his last delegation meeting: 'We may not be able to meet from now on. If there is to be a meeting again, if it is not with my lawyers, if there is no meeting regarding the solution of the Kurdish issue, I will not have this meeting from now on.' There is a big connection between the lack of a solution to the Kurdish question and isolation because if the gates of İmralı are opened, a new era and process will be started so, İmralı is the solution of all issues ”
