MARDİN - A small body part of Hediye Balur who lost her life in Mount Bagok is not returned to the family despite the DNA match.

 

A clash broke out between HPG members and soldiers and village guards who took part in the operation between 7 and 8 May in the rural area of ​​Bagok Mountain in the Nusaybin district of Mardin. 6 HPG members lost their lives as a result of the bombing of the region where the clashes continued with drones and helicopters. While the bodies of 5 HPG members were returned to their families on different dates, the only remaining body part of Hediye Balur is not returned to the family to have a decent burial even though 4 months have passed. 

 

Balur's family came to Mardin last month to claim the body of their daughter and gave a DNA sample. The family's request for identification was initially denied on the grounds that the body was unrecognizable. The family, who insisted on their demands, was shown a 450-gram body part kept in the morgue.

 

The family wanted to have a decent burial even though a 450 grams of body part was left from their daughter. The family, who applied to the Mardin Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, did not receive a positive response. The family was informed that the body would be sent to the Forensic Medicine Institute (ATK) and the prosecutor's office would decide according to the outcome. The family stated that they have not received any response yet and said that they wanted to bury their daughter even though a small piece of her is left behind.
