She said that 10 suspicious deaths occurred in 10 months in Wan in 2024. 'WOMEN ARE SUBJECTED TO VIOLENCE IN MANY AREAS'
Stating that the most common forms of violence that women, children and LGBTI+ persons are exposed to are psychological, physical, sexual and economic violence, “Psychological violence is practiced alone or in combination with other forms of violence such as physical, economic, digital, dating violence or stalking. Again, women are subjected to violence and violations in many areas such as violence in the social sphere, suicide, suspicious death, detention, sexual assault, forced prostitution and disappearance,” Demir said.
'WE WILL INCREASE OUR ORGANIZED STRUGGLE'
Referring to the cases that Star Women's Association is following and the work they are carrying out, Demir stated that the implementation of the laws and gender inequality make women invisible. Demir said the following: “As long as it is not determined by whom and why women are killed, as long as there is no fair trial, as long as the perpetrators do not receive deterrent sentences, as long as preventive measures are not implemented, we will continue to say that violence against women is political and we will continue to grow our organized struggle. We will continue to fight against this organized violence with the philosophy of 'Jin, jiyan, azadî' spreading all over the world until there is a world order without violence and exploitation.”
