Police harassment and oppression against Aram Publishing House continues at the 8th Amed Book Fair. The police confiscated the book "Efrin Resistance Diaries", which was being sold at the stand today. The book, written by politician Hatip Dicle, chronologically describes the war in the Northern and Eastern Syrian city of Afrin between 20 January 2018 and 20 January 2019.
Citing the decision of the prosecutor's office as the reason for the seizure, the police also searched the stand.
4 BOOKS CONFISCATED
The police confiscated 4 books of Aram Publishing House since the opening of the fair. On 2 October, a book titled "Dildarê Serkeftinê" by Mahmut Aba was conifscated. In yesterday's raid, the book "The Long Walk to Freedom", a translation of Nelson Mandella's autobiography with a foreword by PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, and a book compiling the letters of Mehmet Hayri Durmuş were confiscated.
