AMED - Vedat Özer is an epilepsy patient who was wounded in the police attack against the people after the "Freedom for Peace" rally in Amed yesterday. He has a risk of death due to the attack.
"Freedom for Peace" rally was organised by Democratic Regions Party (DBP) and Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) with the participation of thousands of people at İstasyon Square in Yenişehir district of Amed (Diyarbakır) yesterday. DEM Party Youth Assembly Vedat Özer, who was injured in the police attack after the rally, was taken to Dicle University Faculty Hospital for treatment. It is learnt that Özer, who is being treated in the intensive care unit of the neurology department, underwent brain tomography again in the morning and his brain haemorrhage stopped. It is learned that Özer's condition is moderate and he opened his eyes, but he still has a risk of death. It is stated that Özer will continue to be treated in the intensive care unit for a while.
DEM Party MP Serhat Eren, who went to the hospital, said, "The doctor said that Vedat had 3 drops of blood flowing to his brain and he has a risk of death. X-rays were taken in the morning. The doctor will give detailed information in the afternoon." Stating that Özer, who suffers from epilepsy, fell to the ground after the police attack with pepper spray, Eren said that they will follow the process.
Özer's family and friends are still waiting in front of the hospital.
On the other hand, mother Remziye Özer was able to see her son in the intensive care unit with the permission of doctors.
