ANKARA - The ECtHR has ruled that the rights of former HDP Co-Chair Figen Yüksekdağ and 13 MPs have been violated.
The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) ruled on the application made for the former Co-Chair of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Figen Yüksekdağ and 13 MPs. It was decided that with the arrest of Yüksekdağ and the 13 members on November 4, the rights to freedom of expression and their right to vote and to be elected were violated, and in connection with this, Article 18 of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) was violated. The ECHR sentenced Turkey to 184,600 Euros of non-pecuniary damage.
