NEWS CENTER - Describing the bombing attack in Taksim as a "conspiracy", PYD Co-Chair Salih Muslim pointed out that the arrested person has connections with groups such as the FSA.
Discussions about the bomb attack on Istiklal Street in Istanbul Taksim, in which 6 people lost their lives, continue. In statements from the Turkish government, it was claimed that the attack was carried out by the PKK and that the attacker came from Northern and Eastern Syria; however, the allegations were denied and it was stated that the ground was prepared for an attack on Northern and Eastern Syria. Co-Chair of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), Salih Muslim, made comments to the ANF about the events.
CONSPIRACY
Evaluating the attack as "a conspiracy organised by the Turkish state's Special Warfare Department", Muslim said: "This is a terrorist attack and we condemn it like everyone else. These are Ottoman intrigues and are of no use to anyone. As Rojava forces, SDF, Autonomous Administration and PYD, we have made many statements condemning this attack from the first day. The attacks against Northern and Eastern Syria may increase. The attacks on Rojava have not stopped yet. They may intensify it even more. That's why all our strength and democratic forces need to be prepared for this. We need to take our measures. Kobanê is specifically targeted. Turkey resorted to such a 'conspiracy' for the attack. The fact that they specifically target Kobanê is for revenge. Taking revenge on Kobanê is a matter of consciousness for them because Kobane defeated ISIS. This is why they are targeting Manbij and Kobanê. This displays that they have prepared the scenarios, they will attack when they have the opportunity."
'THE ATTACKER HAS THE CONNECTION OF FSA'
Pointing to the FSA connection of the person who was caught and shown as the perpetrator of the attack, Muslim said: "No one knows the person who carried out the attack in our regions. Looking at the social media accounts, the attacker has connections with groups such as the FSA. There are photos of the person who carried out the attack with the banners of the group named Sultan Murad. She is not a Kurd, either. She has nothing to do with the Kurds and the Rojava administration. Such a provocative event targets the Kurds. Everyone, especially the democratic forces, should be careful and sensitive to this. They know very well how such games have been concocted by the Special Warfare Department since the 1970s. I think the Turkish public is also aware of it. We are going through a sensitive process. Domestic policy was especially targeted with such a conspiracy. They tried to prolong their lives with this. We must be careful and take the necessary precautions."
